Forum in the city with thousand-year history

In 2010 the city of Yaroslavl is celebrating its 1000th anniversary.

In the course of centuries Yaroslavl was playing an important role in formation and development of the Russian statehood. Today the city is a significant cultural centre of Russia. Yaroslavl is a true outdoor museum. In the territory of the city 785 protected monuments are located, out of them 176 of federal and 231 of local significance.

In 2005 the historical centre of Yaroslavl was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The 1000th anniversary of Yaroslavl was planned as a large-scale project, implying making the city more comfortable for living, laying the foundations for long-term development.

The visit of the President of the Russian Federation, members of the government of the Russian Federation, heads of foreign states, governors of Russian regions, heads of leading Russian and foreign companies, working in Russia, took place on the 1000th anniversary of Yaroslavl.


Traditionally, the Universal Culture and Sports Complex “Arena-2000” will be the venue of the Global Policy Forum.
